Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of our retail store. Responsibilities
- Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations to ensure smooth functioning
- Supervise and motivate team members to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally to maintain high satisfaction levels
- Manage merchandising efforts, including pricing strategies and product placement to maximize sales
- Oversee POS transactions, cash handling, and bookkeeping tasks with accuracy and integrity
- Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing and onboarding new staff members
- Assist in training and developing team members to enhance their skills and performance
- Coordinate purchasing activities to ensure inventory levels meet demand while controlling costs
- Implement marketing initiatives to promote store products and increase foot traffic
- Monitor store budget, sales performance, and operational expenses to meet financial objectives
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and health standards
Skills
- Proven leadership and team management experience within retail or similar environments
- Strong negotiation skills for vendor relations and conflict resolution
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable for effective communication with diverse customers and staff
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and interpersonal interactions
- Proficiency in POS systems, cash handling, bookkeeping, and basic math skills
- Experience in merchandising, pricing strategies, sales management, and retail marketing
- Ability to recruit, interview, train, and develop staff effectively
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
- Time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Administrative experience related to payroll processing, budgeting, and record keeping
