Tasks & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work as a member of a team of facility assistants.
- Outdoor theatre care including major renovation and improvements to accessible seating for seniors and the disabled, operation of power tools (lawn mowers, weed whippers, drills, sanders, etc.), and grounds maintenance.
- Prepare the Badlands Amphitheatre site and facility for the summer season. This would include, but not be limited to, mopping, dusting, window washing, sweeping, and sanitizing.
- Provide ongoing outdoor maintenance of the site and facility. This would include, but not be limited to, ground maintenance such as lawn mowing, brush trimming, litter removal, and painting.
- Clean and maintain the Badlands Amphitheatre site and buildings to enhance our guest/staff experience and safety, including a wide range of indoor tasks such as building upkeep, pest management, washroom maintenance and sanitation, and more.
- Depending on project requirements, this role may include assisting with theatre, site, and community and guest event preparation, and interaction with the public.
- Must be able to work some evenings and event weekends.
Ideal candidate: The ideal candidate is flexible and open to take on new projects and tasks and work in an ever-changing and growing organization; ability to work both independently and collaboratively; self-starter; strong interpersonal skills; strong organizational and time management skills; sound judgement with the ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise; ability to prioritize and handle a complex and varied workload; attention to detail; have a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
Skills: Organization, time management, prioritizing, flexibility, teamwork, and interpersonal, verbal and written (completing reports) communication.
Note: This is a CSJ (Canada Summer Jobs) funded position and is available only for a youth who is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; has a valid SIN (Social Insurance Number) at the start of employment; and who is between 15-30 at the start of the program.
