Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Journeyperson Electrician (Red Seal) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical components. This role involves working on diverse projects such as renovations, new installations, and troubleshooting complex electrical issues across various industrial settings. The Journeyperson Electrician will ensure all work complies with safety standards and technical specifications, contributing to the efficient operation of our facilities.
Due to Insurance restrictions all employees driving company vehicles are required to be at least 25 years old (or more) and have a clean driver abstract.
Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately install and troubleshoot electrical systems.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control systems, and equipment in industrial environments.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to perform electrical tasks efficiently and safely.
- Work with low voltage systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and automation components as needed.
- Conduct inspections to identify potential electrical issues and implement effective solutions during renovation or construction projects.
- Follow electrical codes and safety regulations to ensure compliance during all phases of work.
- Assist in the planning and execution of electrical upgrades or modifications to existing infrastructure.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters or plumbers during renovation projects to coordinate work seamlessly.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed for documentation and future reference.
Experience
- Proven experience as an electrician with a strong background in construction, renovation, or maintenance projects. (Commercial & Residential)
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals accurately.
- Hands-on experience with low voltage systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and automation controls is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment required for installation and troubleshooting tasks.
- Familiarity with electrical codes, safety standards, and best practices in industrial settings.
- Previous maintenance person experience or general construction background is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
