AvantDerm, a leading dermatology clinic located in Toronto’s historic Distillery District, is seeking a full-time Cosmetic Consultant & Senior Medical Esthetician to join our growing cosmetic dermatology team.
This is an onsite, full-time role, Monday to Friday. Our clinic is exceptionally busy, and we are looking for someone who can thrive in a fast-paced, physician-led environment while maintaining warmth, professionalism, and composure.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is both treatment-focused and business-minded, someone who can deliver an elevated patient experience, support cosmetic consultations, recommend appropriate skincare and treatment plans, and help grow the cosmetic side of the practice.

You are:
- A confident and experienced cosmetic professional who understands both patient care and business growth.
- Polished, warm, and professional with outstanding communication skills.
- Comfortable discussing pricing, treatment plans, skincare recommendations, and patient expectations.

- Calm under pressure and comfortable working in a very busy clinical environment.
- Emotionally intelligent, mature, and able to build trust with patients, physicians, and team members.
- Passionate about cosmetic dermatology, skincare, patient education, and premium service delivery.
- Comfortable with sales, but always ethical, patient-first, and consultative in your approach.
- Build trust with patients by listening carefully, understanding their goals, and recommending appropriate services and skincare products.
- Support patients before and after treatments through clear communication, follow-up, and education.
- Create a warm, polished, and premium patient experience that reflects the standards of a dermatology-led clinic.
Esthetics & Treatment Support
- Perform appropriate esthetic treatments within your scope of practice, training, and clinic protocols.
- Support treatments such as facials, chemical peels, Microneedling, laser or light-based services, skincare assessments and deep dive consultations, and other cosmetic procedures as applicable.
- Assist with before-and-after photography, treatment documentation, consent forms, and patient preparation.
- Maintain excellent infection prevention and control practices, room turnover, equipment care, and treatment room presentation.
- Ensure all treatments are delivered safely, professionally, and in alignment with clinic standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4–5 years of experience as a medical esthetician, cosmetic consultant, laser technician, or senior esthetician.
- Experience in a medical aesthetics, dermatology, plastic surgery, laser clinic, or high-end skincare environment is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of skincare, skin health, cosmetic treatments, and medical-grade product recommendations.
- Experience with cosmetic consultations, treatment planning, skincare sales, and patient follow-up.
- Laser, IPL, Hydrafacial, chemical peel, microneedling, or device-based treatment experience is considered an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Professional presentation and strong patient service standards.
- Post-secondary education in esthetics, medical aesthetics, skincare, or a related field is preferred.
- Dermatology experience is a strong asset.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is someone who can move comfortably between the treatment room, consultation room, and business development conversation.
You are not just “performing treatments.” You are helping build a cosmetic patient journey, from first inquiry to treatment plan, product recommendations, rebooking, maintenance, and long-term loyalty.
You understand the balance between clinical professionalism and luxury service. You can educate without overwhelming, recommend without pressuring, and follow up without sounding scripted.
