We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Office Administrator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing front desk operations, coordinating patient appointments, and ensuring smooth administrative workflows within a busy medical or dental practice. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with electronic medical records, and familiarity with office management systems. The Medical Office Administrator plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient service and supporting clinical staff to provide quality care.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors professionally, providing a welcoming environment at the front desk
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages efficiently
- Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR) using systems such as Epic and Dentrix
- Verify patient insurance information and process billing or payments as needed
- Assist with administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and managing correspondence
- Coordinate appointment scheduling for multiple providers while optimizing clinic flow
- Ensure compliance with healthcare privacy regulations and office policies
- Support clinical staff by preparing patient charts and handling documentation requirements
- Handle administrative duties related to patient check-in/check-out processes and follow-up communications
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist or Medical Office Administrator in a healthcare setting
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Epic and Dentrix
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and dental terminology preferred
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced office environment with multi-line phone systems
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and providers
- Office experience including front desk operations, administrative support, and appointment scheduling
- Knowledge of healthcare privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA) is preferred
- Previous experience in dental or medical office settings is highly desirable
Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
