Position: Market Team Member
Location: St. Jacobs
Employment Type: Part-Time (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday) / Seasonal (July-October)
About the Role
We are looking for enthusiastic and dependable team members to help operate at the St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market. Our farm grows and offers our fresh farm produce to sell at the farmers market. Team members will help create a welcoming shopping experience for customers while keeping the market well stocked and organized.
Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Greet customers and assist with product questions
- Provide a friendly and welcoming experience
- Handle customer purchases using a POS system
Market Operations
- Restock produce
- Maintain attractive product displays
- Rotate produce and remove damaged products
- Help keep the market clean and organized
Additional Duties
- Assist with opening and closing tasks
- Help unload or move produce boxes and baskets when needed
- Support market promotions or seasonal displays
Requirements
- Friendly, positive attitude
- Comfortable working with customers
- Able to lift upto 60 lbs
- Able to stand for extended periods
- Weekend availability required
- Working in a non-climate-controlled market environment
- Able to count cash
Preferred Experience
- Retail or customer service experience
- Interest in local food or agriculture
- Operating a forklift or pallet jack or willingness to obtain training
Compensation
- $16.60–$18 per hour depending on experience
