Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with dealership repairs, heavy-duty trucks and trailers. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand tools and power tools, and the ability to perform complex diagnostics and repairs to ensure optimal equipment performance and safety.
Duties
- Diagnose and repair various types of heavy equipment including Trucks & Trailers
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and system inspections
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
- Conduct welding and fabrication tasks as needed for repairs or modifications
- Operate and test heavy equipment after repairs to ensure proper functioning
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed
- Assist with assembly of new equipment or parts when necessary
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized diagnostic equipment efficiently
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status and recommendations effectively
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment repair, preferably in dealership or industrial settings
- Strong knowledge of Freightliner, Volvo, Kenworth, Western Star Etc.
- Experience working with machinery, and automotive repair is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment when necessary
- Proficiency with welding, assembly, maintenance procedures, and the use of hand tools and power tools
- Mechanical aptitude combined with excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately
- Excellent communication skills for customer service interactions
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
