Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paint, and finishing products to meet quality standards. This role requires mechanical knowledge, familiarity with hand and power tools, and experience working in a manufacturing environment. The Painter will play a crucial part in ensuring the durability and aesthetic quality of our products while adhering to safety and efficiency protocols.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure proper paint adhesion
- Apply primer, paint, or coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment with precision
- Operate machinery such as cranes and forklifts as needed for material handling and positioning
- Use hand tools and power tools to assemble or repair components prior to painting
- Follow safety procedures related to welding, machining, and other manufacturing processes
- Maintain a clean work area and ensure all equipment is properly maintained
- Collaborate with team members on lean manufacturing initiatives to optimize workflow
- Perform basic math calculations for measurements and mixing paints or coatings accurately
Qualifications
- Proven experience in painting within a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred
- Mechanical knowledge related to machining, assembly, welding, and equipment operation
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, cranes, forklifts, and other machinery used in production environments
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations required for accurate application of coatings
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is a plus
- Ability to work safely around machinery such as welding stations and machining tools
- Strong attention to detail with excellent manual dexterity
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
