Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality resident care in our long term care home. This role offers an opportunity to work with geriatric population requiring specialized care such as dementia, palliative and other chronic medical needs. The RPN will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective, and personalized care plans are implemented and maintained.
Duties
- Deliver comprehensive resident care in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
- Administer medications and treatments accurately while monitoring resident responses
- Maintain detailed documentation using electronic health record system- Point Click Care
- Monitor vital signs and assess resident conditions regularly to identify changes requiring intervention
- Educate residents and their families about health management, medication use, and treatments
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals
- Ensure compliance with FLTCA,2021 and safety standards to promote a safe environment for residents and other staff
Qualifications
- Valid registration as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Experience in long term care and dementia care is an asset
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and laboratory procedures
- Experience working with electronic health records system-Point click care
- Strong resident care skills with an emphasis on compassion and professionalism
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and educating resident s and families
- Knowledge of pain management strategies and palliative care is advantageous
Pay: $32.54-$33.84 per hour
