Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. This role requires excellent driving skills, a strong understanding of freight operations, and the ability to operate heavy equipment when necessary.
Duties
- Safely operate trucks to transport freight to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo, utilizing forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding transportation and safety.
- Perform minor automotive repairs and maintenance on the vehicle as required.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is required.
- Experience in commercial driving with a clean driving record is preferred.
- Familiarity with freight operations and logistics processes is an asset.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely.
- Basic knowledge of automotive repair is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
