Job description:
Are you a Nurse Practitioner looking for a new opportunity? In this position, The Primary Care Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive, patient-centered healthcare services. The NP delivers preventive care, diagnoses and manages acute and chronic illnesses, promotes wellness, and supports patient education. This role emphasizes evidence-based practice, clinical autonomy, and continuity of care within a community health clinic setting.
Hourly rate:
- $100-125/hour, commensurate with experience
- $75 Per diem
- $50/hr travel time (for example, a 2-hour flight into the region would be compensated at $100)
Benefits: Transportation to work, flights, accommodation and meals
Additional compensation: Overtime pay after 8 hours/day
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide primary and urgent care through patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment within NP scope.
- Develop evidence‑based care plans, prescribe medications, and order/interpret diagnostics.
- Offer patient education, preventive care, and health promotion.
- Collaborate with the care team and coordinate referrals as needed.
- Maintain compliance with clinical standards and support quality and safety initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Current registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) as a Nurse Practitioner in family /all ages or adult practice.
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- 1–3 years of primary care or outpatient clinical experience.
- Experience managing chronic diseases and providing preventive care
- Strong clinical reasoning and diagnostic abilities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Working Conditions:
- Rural community health clinic environment
- Regular interaction with diverse patient populations
- Must have a valid Alberta Drivers license to commute to community clinic.
- Able to travel to multiple client’s sites: including Conklin and Janvier, AB
