ROLE
Surerus is looking to hire a Loader Operator to support operations in our Fort St John location. You'll be responsible for loading and unloading materials and equipment within the Fort St John yard.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Comply with Surerus Safety practices and procedures
- Operate loaders, and other heavy equipment as required, safely and efficiently
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment
- Perform daily equipment inspections, maintenance, and lubrication to ensure machinery is in good working order
- Coordinate with team members to place or move materials and equipment accurately
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments
- Perform additional tasks such as leveling land, spreading material or snow removal depending on site needs
Note: In addition to these duties personnel are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required in order to support the objectives of the company.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Certification or experience operating front-end loaders and other heavy equipment, including but not limited to gravel trucks
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work
- Eligible to work in Canada
Experience
- Previous experience working in an equipment/truck repair shop and yard is considered an asset

- Self-starter with problem solving skills and adaptability
- Physical strength and stamina to operate machinery for extended periods
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and situational awareness to handle materials precisely
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as part of a team
- Safety conscious and aware of job site protocols
- Attention to detail, reliable, and a strong work ethic
- Excellent communication skills
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is based in Fort St John and often works within the yard and other locations. Must be able to work 8 – 10 hour days, 5 - 6 days a week.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol test is required as a condition of employment. Steel toed boots are required for this position.
COMPENSATION
The hourly rate for this position is $32.00 to $36.00 per hour, depending on the candidates skills and experience.
