Job Overview
Trimay Wear Plate Ltd, a UCC environmental company, is the leading manufacturer and distributor of overlay wear plate & pipe, rubber lined pipe, welding consumables, and VR connectors. Trimay has a manufacturing facility and head office in east Edmonton, and services an international customer base in a wide range of industries, including mining, oilfield, forestry, asphalt and power generation.
We are currently looking for a Press brake operator to join our team. The position will report to the Shop Supervisor and will be part of an existing production team. Ideally, candidates are willing to learn new skills in various positions in the manufacturing plant as required by the supervisor.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate press brake machines to bend and form chromium carbide overlay plates
- Set up machines, select tooling, and adjust settings based on material and thickness
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
- Inspect finished parts to ensure accuracy and quality
- Participate in training and cross training of other plant positions
- Perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting
- Perform other fabrication process such as stud welding, countersinking, beveling, forming, welding, CNC plasma cutting, quality control, etc.
Qualities
- · Previous experience of press brake operations is a must. Candidates with no previous experience will not be considered.
- Other metal fabrication experience is an asset.
- Class 5 clean driver’s licence (abstract required)
- Enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills with minimal supervision
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to shift from one job to another with little notice
- Assist in keeping a clean, safe work environment
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
Compensation based on experience. Benefits will be provided after 3-months of employment.
