Chisholm services for Children provides services for children 12 and younger requiring placement away from the home.
We are growing our services as we relocate to our new programs in Lower Sackville, and in the process, building our team with new hires beginning mid June.

Are you passionate about working as a team, delivering services from a trauma informed lens, working collaboratively with community partners and stakeholders, all with a goal of preparing children to return home or to a family-based service?
As a Child and Youth Care Worker, are you able to work shift work days, evenings and weekends to support children in our Child and Youth Care Program? If this is a challenge that interests you, then this is the position for you.
Duties
- Provide daily care and supervision for children in a safe and supportive setting
- Develop and implement individualized activity plans tailored to each child's developmental needs
- Assist children with personal hygiene, meal times, and recreational activities
- Support children with by adapting activities and providing necessary assistance
- Foster positive behavior through guidance, teaching social skills, and conflict resolution techniques
- Collaborate with team members, families, and external professionals to ensure comprehensive care
- Monitor progress and document observations related to each child's growth and challenges
- Create a welcoming environment that encourages learning, independence, and emotional well-being
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to teach or instruct effectively
- Compassionate attitude with patience and understanding of diverse needs
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting
- Knowledge of child development principles and behavior management strategies
- Certification or training related to child care or special needs is a plus
- Must be reliable, responsible, and committed to fostering a positive environment for children

Pay: $51,800.00-$60,700.00 per year
