Photo & Video Content Creator
Habitat Vans — Pemberton, BC
Early-Career Creative Role
Habitat Vans designs and manufactures high-quality camper van conversion kits for people who want to get out on the road, off-grid, and into the mountains. We are looking for a capable photo and video content creator to take ownership of our content production from idea through to final delivery.
This role is suited to someone who already has hands-on experience with cameras, editing, and content creation, and is ready to manage the full creative process for a growing product-based company.
About the Role
You’ll be responsible for planning, shooting, editing, and delivering photo and video content across our workshop, products, installs, completed vans, and brand story. The work will support our website, social media, YouTube, paid ads, product documentation, and sales material.
This is not a senior creative director role, but it is more than an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who can come up with content ideas, turn those ideas into simple shoot plans, capture strong footage, edit polished content, and deliver finished assets that are ready to use.
Responsibilities
- Develop photo and video content ideas that support the Habitat Vans brand, products, and marketing goals
- Plan simple shoots, shot lists, and content concepts
- Capture high-quality photo and video content of our vans, products, workshop, team, installs, and finished builds
- Shoot product details, lifestyle content, process content, educational content, and finished van interiors
- Create short-form videos for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and paid ads
- Assist with longer-form YouTube, website, and product education videos
- Edit video content into clear, engaging, brand-aligned pieces
- Take and edit product photos for web, marketing, sales, and documentation use
- Deliver finished content in the correct formats for each platform
- Organize, label, and manage photo/video files so they can be easily reused
- Help build a consistent visual library for Habitat Vans
- Identify content opportunities during production, installs, product development, and completed van handovers
- Capture installation steps, product features, behind-the-scenes processes, and customer-facing details
- Help maintain a clean, high-end visual style across all Habitat Vans content
Required Experience
- Comfortable using mirrorless, DSLR, or similar camera systems
- Strong understanding of camera basics, including exposure, focus, frame rate, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and white balance
- Experience shooting both photo and video content
- Ability to plan, shoot, edit, and deliver content with limited supervision
- Ability to capture clean, stable, well-composed footage
- Experience working with natural light and basic controlled lighting
- Competent with editing software such as Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, Lightroom, Photoshop, CapCut, or similar
- Able to edit short-form video content with good pacing, clean cuts, music, captions, and simple graphics
- Strong file organization habits
- Able to provide a portfolio, reel, Instagram page, YouTube channel, or examples of previous work
Ideal Candidate
- Has a strong visual eye and understands composition, movement, lighting, and storytelling
- Can take a loose idea and turn it into finished, usable content
- Thinks creatively, but also understands that content needs to be practical and useful
- Can work independently once given direction
- Is comfortable in a workshop, manufacturing, or hands-on environment
- Enjoys capturing real products, real processes, and real people
- Understands how to create content for social platforms without making it feel overly staged or corporate
- Has an interest in vans, adventure, design, manufacturing, tools, outdoor culture, or action-sports-style content
- Is organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple content pieces at once
- Wants to grow with a brand and take on more creative responsibility over time
Nice to Have
- Experience filming vehicles, outdoor products, interiors, workshops, or lifestyle brands
- Drone experience
- Basic graphic design skills
- Experience creating YouTube content
- Experience with paid ad creatives
- Basic copywriting or caption-writing ability
- Familiarity with motion graphics, sound design, or colour grading
- Ability to help plan content calendars and recurring content themes
What You’ll Gain

- Ownership of the full content process from concept to delivery
- The chance to build a strong portfolio of product, lifestyle, workshop, and adventure content
- Real responsibility over brand visuals and content production
