We’re seeking experienced Class 3 Drivers to service residential recycling and waste collection routes in Charlottetown.
In this role, drivers will operate side-load or rear-load collection trucks to safely and efficiently collect waste and recycling materials within designated service areas. This is a physically demanding position that involves manually loading recycling materials into the truck; the successful candidate must be comfortable with frequent lifting and repetitive physical work throughout the shift.
THE JOB
- Ensure timely delivery of gathered materials to designated disposal sites
- Operate trucks and associated equipment safely and efficiently along assigned routes
- Focus on securely delivering solid waste to designated disposal locations
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections daily
- Maintain accurate records including daily truck reports and route sheets
- Promptly report any identified mechanical issues to mechanic and supervisor
- Adhere to predetermined route quality standards
- Operate trucks and equipment using prescribed techniques to prevent mechanical failures
- Strictly follow all safety standards and regulations stipulated by federal, state, local authorities, and company policies
- Communicate effectively with Supervisor/Lead to highlight potential hazards before initiating tasks related to serving or picking up containers.

- $22.00 an hour + 4% vacation pay
- Full-Time, Monday to Friday role with some Saturdays required
- Weekly pay by direct deposit
REQUIREMENTS
- Class 1 or 3 license valid in PEI and a clear driver’s abstract.
- Significant driving experience, residential driving experience is an asset.
- 8” CSA-approved steel toe boots.
- Physically capable of handling recycling bundles and bags on a consistent basis
