We are hiring a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for a field-service role. This position is suited to a experienced technician who values accurate diagnostics, quality workmanship, safe work, complete documentation, and professional conduct at customer sites.

Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, diesel, driveline, steering, braking, after treatment and emissions system repair, cooling-system faults
- Identify root causes rather than treating symptoms
- Perform field repairs, breakdown service, inspections, and preventive maintenance
- Work on excavators, loaders, skid steers, forklifts, aerial equipment, agricultural machinery, and related equipment
- Read service manuals, hydraulic schematics, wiring diagrams, technical bulletins, and manufacturer specifications
- Use diagnostic software, scan tools, multimeters, hydraulic test equipment, gauges, hand tools, and power tools
- Test repaired equipment before returning it to service
- Record labour, travel, parts, findings, work completed, and recommendations accurately
- Take required pre-work and post-work photographs
- Report additional defects, safety concerns, parts needs, and delays promptly
- Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and presentable service truck and work area
- Represent Knights of Repair professionally at customer sites
Required Qualifications
- 10 years minimum years of relevant heavy equipment, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, aerial equipment, commercial vehicle, or industrial machinery experience
- Strong diesel, hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and diagnostic knowledge
- Ability to work independently in field conditions
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence and acceptable driving record
- Personal hand tools appropriate to the role
- Ability to perform physically demanding work and work outdoors in varying conditions
- Professional communication and accurate service documentation
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
Ontario 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification preferred.
Other assets include mobile field-service experience, dealership or rental-fleet experience, OEM diagnostic software knowledge, welding and fabrication, hydraulic testing, emissions and after-treatment experience, and relevant workplace safety certifications.
Truck, Tools, and Equipment
Knights of Repair will provide a service truck/van along with larger and specialized truck tooling and diagnostic equipment.
The employee will generally provide ordinary personal hand tools based on the approved technician tool list.

Schedule and Work Conditions
The standard schedule is four 11hr days.
Overtime is available.
On-call, evening, weekend, and emergency work is available but not required.
Full travel time is paid from home if the tech lives within our service area.
Work may take place at customer yards, construction sites, industrial facilities, farms, municipal sites, roadside locations, and other environments where heavy equipment operates.

Pay: $50.00-$60.00 per hour
