Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Roofer Kettle Worker to join our construction team. This role involves working on roofing projects, specifically focusing on kettle operations and related tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction, carpentry, and handyman work, with a strong emphasis on safety, precision, and efficiency. The position offers an opportunity to develop specialized skills in roofing and contribute to high-quality building projects.
Responsibilities
- Operate roofing kettles to apply hot asphalt and other roofing materials efficiently and safely
- Use hand tools such as trowels, shovels, and brushes to spread roofing materials accurately
- Assist with the installation of roofing systems according to project specifications and blueprints
- Perform heavy lifting of roofing materials and equipment to ensure proper placement and safety
- Read and interpret blueprints to understand project requirements and ensure correct application of materials
- Conduct caulking and sealing tasks to ensure waterproofing and durability of roofing systems
- Support carpentry tasks related to roof framing or structural adjustments as needed
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries on-site
Experience
- Prior experience with hand tools, construction, or carpentry is highly desirable
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings is a plus
- Handyman experience or background in roofing or related trades will be advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently for extended periods
- Knowledge of caulking techniques and waterproofing methods preferred
- Previous work with roofing kettles or asphalt application is a strong asset
