Our client, an education company, is hiring for an Online Math Instructor (part-time) for the upcoming 2026/27 academic school year to lead small-group classes for high school students.
This role is ideal for tutors, university students, or emerging professionals who are passionate about mathematics, mentorship, and helping students build both confidence and academic momentum in a collaborative virtual environment. We are currently seeking facilitators for two instructional streams:
Stream 1: Grades 8–10 Mathematics
Instructors will support students in core secondary math foundations, including introductory algebra, functions, geometry, proportional reasoning, statistics, and problem-solving.
Stream 2: Senior Secondary Mathematics (Grades 11–12)
Facilitators will support advanced mathematics courses, including:
BC Curriculum:
- Foundations of Mathematics 11
- Pre-Calculus 11 or 12
- Calculus 12
ON Curriculum:
- Functions 11
- Functions and Applications 11
- Advanced Functions 12
- Calculus and Vectors 12

Position Details
- Part-time remote/online position
- Approximately 4-10 hours per week
- Flexible scheduling, including after-school evenings and occasional weekends

What You’ll Do
- Facilitate small-group online math sessions for high school students
- Create supportive, engaging, fun and academically rigorous virtual learning sessions
- Guide students through problem-solving, skill development, and exam preparation
- Use online teaching tools such as Zoom, digital whiteboards, and other collaborative platforms to enhance learning and engagement
- Adapt instruction to support varying learning styles and student needs
- Encourage student confidence, participation, and accountability
What We’re Looking For
- Experience teaching or tutoring in online/virtual settings is required
- Strong understanding of the BC and/or ON secondary mathematics curriculum
- Confidence teaching either:
- Grades 8–10 Mathematics, and/or Senior-level mathematics including Pre-Calculus and Calculus
- Experience working with either small-group cohorts or one-to-one academic support environments is strongly preferred
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong rapport with students
- Comfortable facilitating collaborative and engaging online learning environments
- Pursuing or have completed a degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Sciences, Education or a related field
- Experience supporting students with anxiety, learning differences, ADHD or diverse learning needs is considered an asset
