Position Summary
The Delivery Solutions Architect is a senior individual contributor responsible for designing and delivering enterprise-scale data, analytics, and cloud solutions that align with business strategy, architecture standards, security requirements, governance frameworks, and operational objectives. This role serves as a trusted advisor to business and technology stakeholders, providing architectural leadership across complex initiatives while influencing technical direction through expertise and collaboration rather than direct people management.
The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in modern data architectures, Databricks Lakehouse platforms, Azure cloud technologies, data modeling, governance, and enterprise analytics solutions, with a proven ability to guide delivery teams from strategy through implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise data, analytics, integration, and cloud solutions.
- Translate business strategies and requirements into scalable, secure, and supportable data platform architectures.
- Develop target-state architectures, solution blueprints, reference patterns, and implementation roadmaps.
- Design modern Lakehouse and analytics platforms supporting reporting, advanced analytics, AI/ML, data governance, and enterprise data products.
- Establish architecture standards, design principles, data modeling frameworks, and governance processes to ensure consistency across solutions.
- Evaluate technology options and communicate architectural tradeoffs, risks, costs, and business impacts to stakeholders.
- Partner with product, engineering, security, data, and business teams to ensure successful solution delivery.
- Define integration strategies utilizing APIs, event-driven architectures, messaging platforms, and ETL/ELT patterns.
- Design scalable data ingestion, transformation, storage, and consumption architectures leveraging modern cloud-native technologies.
- Embed security, privacy, compliance, resiliency, observability, and operational support requirements into solution designs.
- Lead architecture reviews and provide technical guidance to delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Influence enterprise data and analytics roadmaps through thought leadership and technical expertise.
- Mentor team members and provide architecture guidance across multiple projects and workstreams.
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Typically requires 8+ years of relevant experience, with significant experience in solution architecture, data architecture, analytics architecture, cloud architecture, or technology consulting.
- Experience architecting enterprise-scale data platforms, analytics solutions, and cloud-native architectures.
- Strong knowledge of Azure cloud services, including data and analytics technologies.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, Lakehouse architectures, Delta Lake, and enterprise analytics platforms.
- Experience with data lakes, lakehouses, data warehouses, data governance, and large-scale data ecosystems.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, data architecture principles, ETL/ELT frameworks, and data integration patterns.
- Experience designing secure data solutions utilizing RBAC, data governance, privacy, and compliance controls.
- Strong understanding of APIs, event-driven architecture, microservices, and integration frameworks.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive-level presentations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting AI/ML, advanced analytics, and data modernization initiatives.
- Experience with Databricks Lakehouse Platform, Delta Live Tables (DLT), Unity Catalog, and PySpark.
- Knowledge of healthcare, pharmaceutical distribution, supply chain, or regulated industries.
- Experience leading enterprise data transformation and cloud migration initiatives.
- Architecture, cloud, Databricks, or data platform certifications.
- Experience building and governing enterprise data products and analytics solutions.
