About the Position
We are seeking a motivated, organized, and patient-focused Pharmacy Assistant to join our busy community pharmacy team in Alberta. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting pharmacists and pharmacy technicians while ensuring excellent customer service and efficient pharmacy operations.
Previous experience in a community pharmacy setting is preferred, and candidates should demonstrate strong attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of community pharmacy experience is required , more preferred.
Completion of a recognized Pharmacy Assistant program is considered an asset
Experience with pharmacy management software is an asset
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Strong customer service skills
Knowledge of Alberta pharmacy workflow and standards is an asset
Key Responsibilities
Greet and assist patients in a professional and courteous manner
Receive and process prescription information accurately
Prepare prescription labels and assist with prescription processing under pharmacist supervision
Manage prescription intake, refill requests, and patient communications
Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality requirements are met
Assist with inventory management, ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
Prepare compliance packaging and blister packs as required
Process third-party billing and resolve billing issues when appropriate
Maintain pharmacy cleanliness, organization, and workflow efficiency
Assist with daily administrative and operational tasks
Support pharmacists and regulated pharmacy technicians in delivering quality patient care
Ensure all pharmacy policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are followed
