The High Level Farmers Market Market Manager is responsible for the day-to-day coordination, organization, and smooth operation of the farmers market season. This role acts as the main point of contact between vendors, the board, sponsors, community partners, and the public while helping create a welcoming, organized, and successful market environment.
The Market Manager helps ensure vendors are supported, rules and regulations are followed, market spaces are organized efficiently, and community engagement continues to grow throughout the season.
Main Responsibilities
Vendor Coordination
- Communicate with current and new vendors
- Process vendor applications and payments
- Assign vendor spaces and assist with setup logistics
- Answer vendor questions and concerns professionally
- Ensure vendors follow market policies and Alberta regulations
Market Day Operations
- Arrive before opening for setup coordination
- Assist vendors during unloading and setup
- Ensure traffic flow and safety procedures are followed
- Handle issues that arise during market hours
- Coordinate with food trucks, entertainers, volunteers, and community groups
- Oversee cleanup and closing procedures
Administration & Organization
- Maintain vendor records and attendance
- Keep organized files, forms, and permits
- Track market fees and submit information to the board/treasurer
- Help prepare vendor packages, maps, and announcements
- Attend board meetings when required
- Assist with insurance, permits, and operational planning
Marketing & Community Engagement
- Help promote the market through social media and community outreach
- Create vendor spotlights and market updates
- Encourage community involvement and partnerships
- Support special events, themed markets, and workshops

Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Able to walk, lift, and assist with light physical setup tasks
