Looking for a Health Care Aid to work in Canmore.
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Health Care Aides to join our team, providing essential support and care to individuals in home care environments. Responsibilities
- Assist residents or clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort
- Provide medication administration following prescribed protocols and ensure timely delivery of treatments
- Support patients with meal preparation and feeding as needed, ensuring nutritional requirements are met
- Monitor health status by observing physical and emotional conditions; report any concerns to supervising healthcare professionals
- Assist with light housekeeping duties including cleaning patient areas to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
- Support patients with mobility challenges through safe lifting, transferring, and positioning techniques
- Engage in compassionate communication to provide emotional support and companionship
- Follow all safety protocols related to infection control, medication handling, and emergency procedures
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospice care, or home care is preferred
- Knowledge of patient care practices including dementia care and working with individuals with disabilities
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for patient transfers or mobility assistance
- Strong caregiving skills with a focus on empathy, patience, and professionalism
- Certification or training in medication administration is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to obtain necessary certifications is expected
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team
- Flexibility to work various shifts including days or evenings as needed
