We are a growing early childhood education program seeking a strong and passionate Program Director / Assistant Director to join our leadership team. This is a management position within our early childhood organization, with opportunity for growth and advancement for the right candidate.
We are looking for an experienced leader with a strong background in early childhood education, emergent curriculum planning, and team leadership.
Qualifications
- Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Care Supervisor Certificate
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant practical experience
- Early Childhood Administration or Supervisor training is considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of child development, agency policies, and human resources procedures
- High standard of professionalism
- Valid Infant/Child CPR and First Aid (updated annually)
- Clear criminal record and sector check
- Level 3 qualification

Responsibilities
Leadership & Staff Management
- Ensure full compliance with all Alberta licensing and legislative requirements
- Lead, coach, and motivate staff in areas such as programming, health and safety, cleanliness, professionalism, and teamwork
- Oversee staff development and performance
- Maintain personnel files and ensure policies and procedures are followed consistently
- Communicate daily with staff regarding updates, concerns, and operational needs
Program Management
- Plan and implement emergent curriculum and program development
- Oversee gradual orientation of newly enrolled children
- Ensure children’s individual needs are met through program planning and evaluation
- Support programming for children with special needs and referrals to appropriate resources as needed
- Facilitate routines and daily program operations
Family & Community Engagement
- Maintain strong enrolment through ongoing communication with families and program promotion
- Conduct parent meetings and interviews as required
- Communicate child progress and address concerns professionally and regularly
- Promote positive community relationships and family engagement
- Participate in open houses and parent committee meetings as required
Health & Safety
- Maintain current First Aid and CPR certification
- Ensure all indoor and outdoor environments remain safe, clean, and hazard-free
- Monitor and replenish first aid supplies
- Maintain accurate records of accidents, allergies, and medical needs
- Ensure safe storage of hazardous materials
- Ensure children are released only to authorized individuals
- Implement fire drills and emergency procedures regularly
Administration & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with all licensing regulations and policies
- Maintain accurate and timely administrative records
- Support enrollment tracking and communication
- Assist with operational reporting and documentation
- Ensure confidentiality of all records and information
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
