One of our clients is currently seeking a reliable AZ or DZ Driver to join their team in Pembroke. This role involves daily deliveries to Ottawa and surrounding areas, with occasional long-haul runs to Sudbury or Richmond Hill as required.
Drivers will be responsible for transporting reinforcing steel and other construction materials using straight or articulated flatbed trucks.
Responsibilities
· Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
· Haul reinforcing steel on flatbed trailers
· Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections daily
· Monitor vehicle condition including tires, lights, and brakes
· Perform minor maintenance such as fueling and adding oil
· Document inspections and maintain accurate records
· Assist with loading and unloading at yards and customer sites
· Shunt trailers as required
· Work in various weather and environmental conditions
· Follow all company and safety procedures
Requirements
· Valid AZ driver’s license with Air Brake (Z) endorsement
· Minimum 2–3 years AZ driving experience
· Experience driving manual transmission trucks (required – all trucks are manual)
· Experience hauling steel (required)
· Clean CVOR (Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration)
· Strong knowledge of safe driving practices
· Ability to work early mornings (3:00–5:00 AM starts)
· Ability to work 10–14 hour shifts (especially Mondays and Tuesdays)
· Experience in industrial environments or machine operation is an asset
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
