Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Foster Care Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will oversee the placement and support of children in foster care, ensuring their safety, well-being, and successful integration into caring families. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to child welfare and experience working with children, demonstrating empathy, communication skills, and attention to detail. Responsibilities
- Coordinate foster care placements by matching children with suitable foster families based on individual needs and circumstances.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to foster families, ensuring they have the resources needed to care for children effectively.
- Conduct regular home visits and assessments to monitor the safety and well-being of children in foster care.
- Collaborate with social workers, case managers, and community agencies to develop comprehensive care plans.
- Maintain accurate records of placements, interactions, and progress reports in compliance with agency policies.
- Facilitate training sessions for foster families on topics such as child development, trauma-informed care, and safety procedures.
- Advocate for children’s needs within the community and ensure their voices are heard throughout the placement process.
- Respond promptly to emergencies or urgent situations involving foster children or families.
- Reports and data Entry on CFSIS
Requirements
- Five (5) Years Prior experience working with children.
- BSW, post-secondary degree in a related field of study and/or Child & Family Services Diploma.
- Knowledge of the Manitoba Child & Family Services Act.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with children, families, and community partners.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for record keeping and case management.
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine commitment to child welfare and family stability.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.
- Valid driver’s license is required for home visits and community outreach activities.
- Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team dedicated to supporting vulnerable children.
Successful completion of a current Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerable Sector Section Query, Prior Contact Check, & Child Abuse Registry Check, or proof of submission of all required checks

Pay: $39,935.97-$84,451.26 per year
