Position Overview
Join our team as a Warehouse Associate & Delivery Driver and play a vital role in both our store operations and customer experience. In this dual role, you will help keep our warehouse running smoothly—handling incoming freight, staging merchandise, and assisting customers with pickups—while also serving as the friendly, professional face of our store when delivering furniture into customers’ homes.
You will work alongside a delivery/warehouse partner to move, load, and deliver merchandise safely and efficiently. Overtime and tips are a possibility during busy periods.
Primary Responsibilities
Warehouse & Showroom Operations
- Unload inbound shipments: Safely unload trailers containing new appliances and furniture stock.
- Merchandise handling: Unpack, inspect, tag, and carefully transfer products onto the showroom floor.
- Customer order staging & pickups: Stage sold merchandise for delivery routes and assist carry-out customers by safely loading purchases into their vehicles.
- Inventory & housekeeping: Keep the warehouse, loading docks, and staging areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
Delivery & Customer Service
- In-home delivery: Safely transport and carry furniture, mattresses, and appliances into customers’ homes alongside your delivery partner.
- Assembly & placement: Perform basic assembly of merchandise and set up items according to customer preference.
- Equipment operation: Safely utilize moving tools (dollies, ramps, moving straps, protective blankets) to prevent damage to products and residential property.
- Communication: Maintain a courteous, professional, and helpful attitude at all times.
Knowledge & Skills Required
- Physical stamina: Ability to consistently lift, carry, and maneuver heavy items
- Licensing: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (abstract may be requested).
- Background clearance: Willingness to undergo a standard criminal background check.
- Safety first: Must supply and wear CSA-approved steel-toed safety footwear.
- Customer-focused: Strong verbal communication skills and a professional personal presentation.
- Reliability: Punctual, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious in high-movement environments.
