For over 50 years, we’ve specialized in designing and manufacturing automated equipment for the Sawmill and Material Handling industries. Our production facility is over 70,000 square feet and equipped with state-of-the-art tools and technology.
We are seeking Welder/Fitters to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in transforming raw steel into custom-built machinery used in sawmills across the globe.
Position Overview
As a Welder/Fitter in our sawmill equipment manufacturing plant, you’ll be responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and welding of heavy-duty components used in a wide range of machinery such as log decks, conveyors, trimmers, stackers, edgers, carriages, and automated handling systems. This is a hands-on position that requires mechanical aptitude, precision, and a strong commitment to quality and safety.
What You’ll Do
Fabrication and Assembly
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
- Measure, cut, and fit metal components (typically steel) to precise tolerances.
- Assemble structural frames and machinery including chutes, conveyors, and supports.
Welding
- Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding as required for various components.
- Weld in multiple positions (flat, vertical, horizontal, overhead).
- Ensure welds meet structural and quality standards.
- Finish components by grinding, sanding, and prepping for painting or further assembly.
Fitting and Alignment
- Use jigs, fixtures, and precision measuring tools to align and fit parts.
- Tack-weld and make necessary adjustments based on fabrication tolerances.
Tool and Equipment Operation
- Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, cutting torches, plasma cutters, and other shop equipment.
- Use hand and power tools safely and accurately.
Safety and Quality
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including PPE requirements.
- Inspect completed welds and assemblies for defects and proper alignment.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
What You Bring
- 3+ years of welding/fitting experience in a similar industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints and welding symbols.
- Certification or demonstrated experience in MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
- Familiarity with industrial fabrication equipment and heavy steel components.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work to tight tolerances.
- Mechanical aptitude and good spatial awareness.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work overtime and occasional weekends as required.
- Occasional travel may be required.

Additional Details
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Day shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
- Overtime available as needed
