Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Primary Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. This role involves creating a nurturing learning environment, developing engaging lesson plans, and supporting students' academic and social growth. The Primary Teacher will play a vital role in fostering a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning.
Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with Ontario curriculum standards in subjects such as Math, Language, Science, Social Studies, Health
- Create an inclusive classroom environment that supports students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities or in special education programs.
- Utilize various teaching methods and educational technologies, including Microsoft Office and computer-based tools, to enhance student engagement.
- Assess student progress regularly through observations, assessments, and tutoring sessions; provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively while promoting positive social interactions among students.
- Collaborate with colleagues, special educators, and support staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student development milestones.
- Mark all student work for correction not completion
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and upcoming activities.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and early childhood education trends.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in special education is a plus.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is highly desirable; strong communication skills are essential for effective teaching and parent interactions.
- Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and other computer skills relevant to lesson planning and student assessment.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles, tutoring techniques, and time management strategies is beneficial.
- Experience working with young children across various developmental stages enhances the ability to tailor instruction effectively. Pay: $45,000.00-$52,000.00 per year
