Cross Country Canada Supplies & Rentals Inc. is actively seeking a motivated and experienced Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and excellence in equipment maintenance and repair. This position is ideal for an individual that has experience with pipeline and construction equipment who will perform all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.
Duties and responsibilities
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude for all aspects of equipment maintenance and repairs
- Perform high-quality workmanship to ensure all equipment is fully operational and job-site ready
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of pipeline and construction equipment, from small machinery to large heavy equipment
- Demonstrate willingness to learn new products, technologies and equipment
- Accurately complete and maintain documentation including work orders, parts requests, and field service reports
- Collaborate effectively with team members and provide support to other departments as required
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and quality standards
- Travel to customers sites to provide troubleshooting, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs as needed
- Mentor and support apprentices in their technical development and safe work practices
- Respond to field service calls and provide equipment support in a timely manner
- ·Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician certification required
- Proven experience working with pipeline and construction equipment is required
- CAT & John Deer and pipeline testing equipment experience is preferred
- Knowledge of excavators, dozers and side-booms
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Ability to communicate efficiently and work well with coworkers and customers
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices
- Pride in maintaining a clean and orderly work environment
Working conditions
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs
- Working environment is indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Travel may be necessary
- Overtime and weekends may be required
