We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team in the role of assistant baker/ pastry chef. Duties
- Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, including cakes, pastries, and bread, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
- Decorate cakes and desserts with creative designs using various decorating techniques
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as mixing, assembling, and packaging products for sale or delivery
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations
- Handle food products safely, following proper food handling procedures
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with product selections and answering questions about baked goods
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently during food preparation and baking processes
- Package finished products carefully to ensure freshness and presentation for retail or catering purposes
Requirements
- Prior experience in cake decorating, baking, or food preparation is highly preferred
- Restaurant or food industry experience is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling techniques
- Strong attention to detail with an artistic eye for cake decoration and presentation
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
- Excellent customer service skills to engage positively with clients and team members
- Basic kitchen experience including use of baking tools, utensils, and equipment
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends or holidays if required
