The electrical build technician, with a minimum of 3 years of automation experience, is responsible for overseeing and participating in the correct and efficient assembly of all control cabinets and wiring of automated systems. The electrical build technician will perform all work in accordance with company procedures and health and safety policies. They will also ensure all levels of quality and deadlines are maintained during all aspects of production, installation, and service support.
Role and Responsibilities
· Follow directions from the electrical production supervisor.
· Follow all health and safety procedures.
· Following established build procedures.
· Read and interpret build drawings/schematics. Providing all modifications and changes to the engineering team.
· Coordination of manpower requirements with electrical production supervisor to maintain all deadlines.
· Inspect and verify correct components are installed and wired to our build procedures.
· Perform audits of schematics, production binders, BOM’s and layout diagrams.
· International and domestic travel to install equipment in accordance with our installation procedures, and adherence to customer’s health and safety policies.
· Perform analysis of customer specifications and ensure job builds comply.
· Liaison between engineering and production personnel.
· Ensuring quality is maintained including reporting deficiencies and maintaining all IPQA documentation.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· 309A or 442A Certificate of Qualification or Electrical Engineering Technologist preferred.
· Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical automation.
· Ability to coordinate a high level of activities under a variety of conditions and constraints.
· High energy, adaptability, and overall ability to motivate fellow team members in a positive manner.
· Ability to work well under pressure in a constantly changing environment.
· Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and Office software.
· Excellent conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
· Strongly developed oral and written communication skills.
· Proficient organizational skills, attention to detail, and a disciplined approach to work.
· Able to travel internationally and possess an unencumbered G-level license.
