NewGen Cleaning Services is seeking an experienced and motivated Account Manager to oversee the day-to-day janitorial operations of a major educational institution in Nanaimo, BC.
This is a leadership position responsible for ensuring exceptional service delivery, maintaining strong client relationships, managing staff performance, and ensuring all health, safety, and quality standards are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Oversee all janitorial operations for the assigned account
- Ensure staffing levels are maintained and schedules are effectively managed
- Coordinate special cleaning projects and periodic maintenance work
- Monitor productivity, efficiency, and service delivery standards
- Manage inventory, equipment, and cleaning supplies
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the client
- Conduct regular meetings and site inspections with client representatives
- Respond promptly to client concerns and service requests
- Build and maintain a strong, professional working relationship with stakeholders
- Ensure contract requirements and service level expectations are consistently met
Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and company safety policies
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and safety audits
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions when required
- Maintain safety documentation and records
- Lead ongoing safety training and toolbox talks
Quality Assurance
- Perform routine inspections and quality audits
- Monitor cleaning standards and implement corrective actions as needed
- Ensure all quality control documentation is completed accurately
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, coach, and mentor supervisors and cleaning staff
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback
- Promote employee engagement, accountability, and professional development
- Assist with employee relations and conflict resolution
Administration
- Complete reports, inspections, and operational documentation
- Monitor labour hours and operational budgets
- Assist with payroll review and staffing coordination
- Maintain accurate records and communication logs
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of management or supervisory experience in janitorial, facilities management, hospitality, or a related field
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Experience managing client accounts and service contracts
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital reporting systems
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a criminal record check
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing janitorial operations in educational, healthcare, commercial, or institutional environments
- Experience with quality assurance and inspection software
