RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Equipment Preventative Maintenance
- Perform preventive maintenance on Moba/Elsto/BVM equipment and supporting grading equipment
- Work alongside a Maintenance Technician on scheduled PM tasks
- Assist with coverage for grading operations if needed due to sick calls or gaps in coverage
- Support production and respond to equipment issues as required
Mobile Equipment and Facility Preventative Maintenance
- Perform maintenance and preventive maintenance on Crown jacks, forklifts, walkies, and other mobile equipment
- Conduct inspections, repairs, and document all work in the CMMS
- Complete maintenance on dock doors, levelers, and general facility mechanical systems
- Assist the maintenance team with additional operational and mechanical tasks
Other
- Finalize weekly PMs, follow up repairs, and close out work orders
- Support production or facility maintenance tasks as required
- Support or cover grading operations maintenance during sick leave, vacations, and/or emergencies
- All other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor
SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Equipment operator’s certification to operate forklift and pallet jack considered an asset
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience troubleshooting equipment
- Experience or certification in mobile equipment maintenance (forklifts, walkie jacks, Crown equipment) preferred
- Red Seal Millwright, Millwright Apprentice, Heavy Duty Mechanic, or equivalent mechanical trade background is an asset
- Strong computer skills with various applications and programs
- Strong communication skills: ability to provide clear, concise general instructions for team effectiveness
- Willingness to learn Moba systems and support grading-equipment PMs
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently with little supervision
- Ability to follow set procedures and efficiently and effectively prioritize work
- Analytical problem solving required (observing the problem, deciding the cause, and working out the most effective resolution)
- Ability to react to problems as they arise minimizing production down time
- Background in maintenance within a production facility considered an asset
- Experience using a preventative maintenance system considered an asset
- This position is encouraged to independently bring forth innovate ideas and suggestions to improve production and/or the work environment
