About the Role
Join a global leader in industrial power electronics and bring mission-critical systems to life in the field. As a VFD Field Service Engineer/Technician, you’ll work hands-on with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), motors, and industrial control systems, supporting customers across multiple industries. This is an early-career opportunity ideal for someone who wants to build technical expertise quickly, travel globally, and develop into a senior field engineer.
You won’t be stuck behind a desk—this is a high-impact, hands-on field role where you will troubleshoot, commission, and optimize real-world equipment in dynamic environments.
What You’ll Do
- Perform on-site commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting of VFDs and motor-driven systems
- Diagnose equipment issues using fault data, electrical testing, and system analysis [TIC IC1030...n II - CAN | Word]
- Execute repairs, component replacements, and system restarts in the field [TIC IC1030...n II - CAN | Word]
- Support installation verification, programming, and tuning of new equipment [TIC IC1030...n II - CAN | Word]
- Interface directly with customers, providing technical support and recommendations to improve system performance and reliability [TIC IC1030...n II - CAN | Word]
- Document service activities through detailed field reports and service documentation [TIC IC1007...e II - CAN | Word]
- Collaborate with engineering teams on complex technical issues and product improvements [TIC 1I1173...nician III | Word]
- Utilize diagnostic and configuration tools (software, test equipment, etc.) to support system performance
What We’re Looking For
- 0–5 years of experience in field service, electrical systems, or industrial equipment (commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, or repair experience preferred)
- Exposure to VFDs, AC/DC drives, motors, or industrial power electronics is a strong plus.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in the field
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal teams
- Comfortable working in industrial environments (plants, facilities, job sites)
Education
Required:
- Associate (2-year technical degree) in Electrical/Electronic Technology or equivalent
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Travel & Work Environment
- Up to 80% travel (domestic & international) required
- Must be able to deploy on short notice and work at customer sites as needed
- Hands-on work with electrical systems, industrial equipment, and test instrumentation
