The BC Synod of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada is hiring an office administrator, starting June 15. 2026.

We are looking for an addition to our administrative team. The right individual will be teamwork-oriented, flexible, and a good communicator.
The responsibilities of the role are not fixed and will depend on the person hired. However, you can expect some or all of the following:
- Daily mail, emails, phone calls
- Weekly banking
- Filing and organization - both electronic and on paper
- Stocking up office supplies
- Managing correspondence
- Managing office calendars
- Maintaining database, directories, and other information
- Some work with Mailchimp
- Some website management
- Other tasks and duties as discussed
Does the following sound like you?
- Minimum two years of administrative / office experience.
- Fluent in English with excellent communication (written and oral) skills.
- Attention to detail in all administrative duties.
- Ability to be flexible and work independently as well as with a team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Able to multi-task and meet deadlines with a high degree of quality and accuracy.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite, Mailchimp, and database work. Knowledge of QuickBooks and website management skills are an asset.
- Prior knowledge of church life and structure is an asset; however, it is not a requirement.
Hours: 20 hours per week, with the possibility for more, depending on your skill set. This work is in person in our New Westminster office. The exact hours are negotiable within usual office hours.
Compensation: Starting at $23 per hour, plus benefits.
