Summary
We are currently seeking a compassionate,skilled and motivated Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team in our North York location. This role is vital in supporting our commitment to providing exceptional care and improving the health of our patients. The position is based at Yonge and Sheppard with direct subway access and offers an opportunity to work within a passionate healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on, 1 on 1, individual rehabilitation treatments for dogs,cats and other companion animals as ordered by a veterinarian.
- Assist in implementing customized physiotherapy and exercise plans
- Perform therapeutic modalities such as laser, range of motion exercises, massage, balance and strengthening activities
- Monitor and document patient progress, including response to therapy, behaviour and clinical changes and send reports to referring veterinarian
- Educate pet owners on home exercise programs and ongoing care
- Maintain a clean,safe and organized treatment environment
- The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing the day to day operations independently with collaboration from the treatment team to optimize patient outcomes and ensure continuity of care
Qualifications
- Must be a Registered Veterinary Technician in good standing with the OAVT
- Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in animal rehabilitation
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners.
- Candidates who reside in North York will be considered an asset for this position
