HOUSEKEEPING COORDINATOR

The Housekeeping Coordinator plays a central role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and guest‑focused operation of the Housekeeping Department. This position serves as the primary communication hub between housekeeping and all other hotel departments, supporting daily operations through accurate reporting, effective task delegation, and proactive problem‑solving. What your day will look like:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the Housekeeping Department and all other hotel departments.
- Coordinate day‑to‑day housekeeping operations and work closely with Room Attendants, Housepersons, Assistant Housekeeping Managers, the Director of Housekeeping, and departments such as Front Office and Engineering.
- Manage all guest inquiries, requests, and complaints related to housekeeping, ensuring all messages and information are accurately logged and communicated promptly.
- Oversee Lost & Found throughout the shift, ensuring timely responses to guest inquiries and efficient retrieval of items.
- Manage the daily opening and closing of the department, including assigning daily room cleaning schedules.
- Process incoming requests and delegate work assignments efficiently and in an organized manner.
- Receive room status updates from housekeeping staff and maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records.
- Communicate room status information to the Front Desk and update the property management system accordingly.
Your experience and skills include:
- Minimum of one year of customer service experience required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a Certificate or Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Management or a related field is an asset.
- At least one year of previous hotel experience preferred but not required.
- Experience with hotel property management systems (e.g., Lightspeed) and housekeeping management software is an asset.
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Flexible availability, including early mornings, mid‑shifts, late evenings, and weekends.
- Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
- Proficient computer skills, including fluency in Microsoft programs.
- Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to push/pull up to 100 lbs. and lift/carry up to 20 lbs.
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred but not required.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred but not required.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada. Valid Work or Study Permits – 1 Year Minimum Validity.
