Live Event Photographer / Visual Storyteller
Comets Crew is growing, and we’re looking for passionate creatives who thrive in live environments and want to help document stories, people, performances, and movements happening across Canada.
This role is ideal for someone who can move with the moment — capturing energy, emotion, action, and authentic moments as they happen.
As part of Comets Crew, you’ll contribute to visual coverage across live events, festivals, performances, interviews, businesses, community initiatives, and creative campaigns while helping document Canadian talent from coast to coast.
Responsibilities
- Capture high-quality photography and video content in live event environments
- Photograph moving subjects including performers, artists, speakers, DJs, crowds, and behind-the-scenes moments
- Deliver polished, client-ready galleries and media packages
- Edit and process images using Adobe Lightroom (required), maintaining consistent colour correction and export workflows
- Create content for website features, social media, YouTube, and promotional campaigns
- Collaborate with the Comets Crew team while adapting quickly in fast-paced environments
- Organize media assets and maintain efficient file delivery standards
- Represent Comets Crew professionally while working on-site and engaging with community members
Requirements
- Strong photography skills with a portfolio that includes events, live environments, moving subjects, performances, sports, concerts, or documentary-style work
- Proficiency in Adobe Lightroom (required)
- Strong understanding of lighting, composition, focus tracking, and post-production workflows
- Ability to work under changing conditions and adjust settings quickly
- Strong communication skills and professionalism when working with artists, businesses, and event teams
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
- Reliable access to camera equipment preferred
Preferred Assets
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro
- Experience with audio recording
- Experience creating content for social media platforms
- Documentary, interview, festival, concert, or nightlife coverage experience
