Gus* Design Group is a leading Canadian furniture design and manufacturing company. The Gus* Modern brand is a soft contract, in-stock, quick-ship line including upholstered seating, dining, beds, accents, lighting, and accessories. Our products are used in commercial projects and sold through contract furniture dealers globally.
We’re looking for a dynamic Trade Development Representative to drive growth, profitability, and account development. Based at our corporate office near Toronto Pearson Airport, this role offers the chance to make a real impact in a vibrant industry.
Why this role matters
You’ll manage and grow relationships with trade and A&D clients while generating new business opportunities. A true hunter mentality is essential; you’ll actively seek out and close new accounts while expanding existing relationships. You’ll travel across North America for trade shows, brand introductions and training, acting as a key ambassador for Gus*.
What you’ll do
- Promote, sell, and secure orders from existing and prospective customers using a relationship-driven approach.
- Hunt for new business: identify, qualify, and convert prospective accounts.
- Develop and maintain business relationships to drive new opportunities.
- Prepare clear client proposals and quotations.
- Provide management with updates on customer needs, competitive activity, and market trends.
- Stay current on product applications, market conditions, and industry trends.
- Frequently travel across North America to participate in trade shows, brand introductions, product trainings and other assigned duties.
What you bring
- Minimum 3 years of sales experience, in the commercial furniture or interiors industry.
- Deep connections within the A&D community and strong understanding of the commercial furniture sector.
- Proven hunter mentality with a track record of securing new business.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and Microsoft Suite; working knowledge of Excel.
- Netsuite experience an asset.
- Valid driver’s license, credit card, and passport for travel to the U.S.
