Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated On-Ice Hockey Trainer to join our sports training team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coaching and developing hockey players of various skill levels, ensuring they improve their techniques and performance on the ice. This role requires a passion for hockey, strong teaching abilities, and a commitment to athlete development. The trainer will work closely with players to enhance their skills, foster teamwork, and promote safety during training sessions.
Duties
- Conduct on-ice training sessions focusing on skating, puck handling, shooting, and game strategies
- Develop personalized training plans tailored to individual athlete needs and skill levels
- Demonstrate proper techniques and provide constructive feedback to improve player performance
- Ensure all training activities adhere to safety standards and promote injury prevention
- Monitor player progress and adjust training methods accordingly
- Foster a positive, motivating environment that encourages teamwork and sportsmanship
- Collaborate with coaching staff to organize practice schedules and special training clinics
Skills
- Proven experience in teaching or coaching hockey or related sports
- Exceptional hockey skill (Player experience/ skill test will be required prior to working)
- Strong knowledge of ice hockey techniques, rules, and safety protocols
- Ability to effectively communicate complex skills in an understandable manner
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate athletes of all ages and skill levels
- Patience, adaptability, and a passion for athlete development
- Ability to work outdoors in cold environments and handle physical demands of on-ice training sessions
Pay: $25.00-$60.00 per hour
