Renovation Associate
Job Summary
The Centers – St. Albert Sports Complex is seeking 5 to 7 hardworking Renovation Associates to join our team for our major building expansion. In this role, you will perform essential construction and renovation labour to help build and equip our recreational facility, featuring basketball, volleyball, and pickleball courts.
This is a hands-on, physically demanding role focused on material handling (including plywood and drywall), framing support, painting, and heavy sports equipment installation. While previous labour experience is an asset, it is not mandatory—we provide a competitive wage of $18.00/hr and will fully fund and provide your on-site Lift Certification.

Key Responsibilities
Renovation & General Labour
- Material Handling: Manually lift, carry, and load building materials, including plywood, drywall, framing lumber, and metal studs.
- Drywall & Framing Support: Assist carpenters and tradespeople with holding sheets of drywall in place, measuring materials, and basic rough framing tasks.
- Painting & Finishing: Tape, prime, and paint walls, trim, and structural elements around the new court areas.
Sports Equipment & Structural Installation
- Equipment Assembly: Unpack, assemble, and anchor heavy-duty basketball hoops, ceiling-mounted backboards, and volleyball net post systems.
- Wall & Divider Installation: Assist in mounting wall padding, protective netting, and mechanical court dividers.
- Floor Prep & Subfloor Installation: Lay down underlayment, vapor barriers, or plywood subflooring in preparation for the final sports surfaces.
Tool & Lift Operation
- Power & Hand Tools: Safely operate a variety of tools, including drills, miter saws, grinders, nail guns, and utility knives.
- Lift Work: Operate scissor lifts or boom lifts (training provided) to assist with high-ceiling installations, including running cables, hanging brackets, and mounting scoreboards.
Other Duties
- Scope of Work: Perform various other renovation, construction, and site-prep duties as assigned by the project manager; daily tasks are not limited to those listed above and will adapt to the evolving needs of the building expansion.
Pay: $18.00 per hour
