We are seeking a dedicated Farm Laborer to join our agricultural team. This role involves hands-on work in various farm operations, supporting the growth and maintenance of crops and farm infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and a willingness to learn about farming practices. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in horticulture, machinery operation, and farm maintenance within a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Assist with planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops using hand tools and farm machinery
- Operate heavy equipment and power tools safely for tasks such as tilling, planting, and maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance on irrigation systems and farm equipment to ensure optimal operation
- Conduct general farm upkeep including mowing, trimming, and cleaning work areas
- Support with the installation and repair of irrigation systems and other infrastructure
- Use basic math skills for measuring, spacing, and record-keeping related to crop management
- Assist with heavy lifting of supplies, equipment, or harvested produce as needed
- Follow safety protocols during all farm activities to prevent accidents or injuries
Requirements
- Prior experience or knowledge in horticulture, irrigation, or farm machinery is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and effectively
- Mechanical knowledge is a plus for troubleshooting equipment issues
- Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged outdoor work in various weather conditions
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to planting and harvesting processes
- Willingness to learn about farm maintenance practices and machinery operation
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced agricultural setting
- Strong work ethic with attention to safety standards during all tasks
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
