The Lounge Assistant plays a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests, ensuring their needs are met while providing exceptional customer service. They support lounge operations by assisting guests, maintaining cleanliness and organization, restocking supplies, and ensuring service areas are presentable. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a strong focus on guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up the food counter reheat food, replenish food, drinks, condiments etc.
- Converse with guests to ensure that their needs are met.
- Provide a warm and welcoming environment for all guests.
- Ensure and maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the dining and service areas.
- Prepare the food and beverage display counters.
- Assist the kitchen team in the replenishment of food display items.
- Serve food and beverage to guests as needed.
- Follow safety and sanitation policies when handing food and beverage.
- Collect soiled dishes and bussing to the washing point.
- Wipe down and sanitize all surfaces as required.
- Rotational dishwashing duty – loading the dishwasher and efficiently manage the incoming of dirty dishes and preparing clean dishes.
- Maintain and replenish inventory regularly and adopting methods to reduce wastage.
- Assist in loading and unloading of foodstuff.
- Always ensure that you clean and sanitize your work area before shift ends.
- To ensure that proper cleaning procedures are adhered to during the shift.
- Employees are expected to follow all health and safety regulations, enforced and updated by the company.
- Maintain the cleanliness of all lounge facilities: the bathrooms, computer station, kitchen and dining areas.
- To take up any additional duties and work based on operational requirement as assigned by on duty manager, such as, cover duties for colleague during their break.
- Other related responsibilities and special or ad hoc projects, as assigned.
Qualifications Required
- Must be possess proper liquor service certification according to provincial requirements. (eg. Serving it Right, Smart Serve, Smart Choices, ProServe, Service in Action)
- Excellent customer service.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork oriented
- Bilingual French/English
- Must be able to multitask and plan ahead.
- Good organizational skills.
- Positive attitude and self-motivated.
- High sense of responsibility and attention to detail.
- Able to obtain Transport Canada clearance for security pass (RAIC) to work at the airport.
Working Conditions
- Able to stand for long periods
- Able to lift up to 20 lbs.
- Must be flexible to work weekdays/weekends and statutory holidays.
- Must be available to work early morning/day/evening shifts
