About the Role
As an RMT in the Rainforest Spa at Long Beach Lodge Resort, you will be responsible for providing professional therapeutic massages that address guests needs. The ideal candidate will provide a high level of hospitality and exceptionally clean space. They will have a genuine passion for providing therapeutic treatments, including but not limited to reviewing guest intake forms, assessment, charting and homecare. Your passion for west coast hospitality will provide our guests with the relaxation and comfort they expect while working cohesively with staff members to create a satisfying and enjoyable atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service
- Perform 60- and 90-minute massage treatments while maintaining the guest’s comfort at all times
- Ensure individualized guest service through acknowledging and responding to their needs and expectations
- Ensuring the highest level of service by exceeding guest expectations to build loyalty
- Keeping up to date and aligning with all CMTBC requirements, standards of professional practice to deliver safe, ethical and effective care
- Full understanding of the spa booking system Jane app
- Maintain an ample supply of massage oils, towels, sheets, and other necessary supplies in a neat and orderly fashion within the massage work area
- Maintain a clean and neat work environment at all times, ensuring all equipment is in safe working order
- Assist guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way
- Follow departmental, health and safety, and emergency policies and procedures
Qualifications
- RMT Certification and insurance required
- Previous spa experience preferred
- Experience in a hotel/hospitality environment is preferred
- Must have refined, concise and professional verbal and written communication skills
- Passion for wellness and delivering exceptional guest experiences
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional, friendly, and reliable with a guest-first attitude
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required
- Team-oriented and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
- Graduates or newly trained practitioners welcome to apply
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and be active for up to 10 hours per shift
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Frequent bending, kneeling, lifting, pushing, and pulling
- Occasional ascending or descending stairs and ramps
Additional Requirements
- Criminal Record Check: Required prior to start date.
- Reference Check: Two professional references will be contacted.
- Signed Staff Manual Agreement: required as part of onboarding, confirming understanding of workplace expectations and policies
