Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Teacher to inspire students of all ages through engaging dance instruction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dance, excellent communication skills, and experience working with children. This role involves developing creative lesson plans, fostering a positive learning environment, and helping students achieve their artistic and technical dance goals. A background in early childhood education, classroom experience, and familiarity with special education practices are highly desirable. The Dance Teacher will contribute to our vibrant community by nurturing students’ confidence, coordination, and love for dance.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate dance lessons that cater to various skill levels and learning styles
- Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support improvement
- Incorporate music, movement, and creative activities to enhance the learning experience
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and colleagues to support student development and address individual needs
- Maintain organized lesson plans and classroom materials using Learning Management Systems (LMS) or other tools
- Adapt teaching methods for students with special education needs or other accommodations as required
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all activities and maintain a clean, organized studio environment
Skills
- Strong knowledge of dance techniques across various styles suitable for different age groups
- Experience working with children in educational or extracurricular settings
- Background in early childhood education or classroom experience is preferred
- Excellent communication skills to effectively instruct students and collaborate with parents and staff
- Ability to develop engaging lesson plans tailored to diverse learners
- Proficiency in tutoring, proofreading, or curriculum development related to dance education
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) for lesson planning and student tracking
- Knowledge of math concepts can be beneficial for teaching rhythm, timing, and spatial awareness in dance
- Experience with special education practices to support inclusive learning environments
Pay: $17.20-$25.00 per hour
