Remote Hunting & Fishing Lodge (Northern Ontario) seeking a Canadian couple to step into a full-time, live-on-site management role starting in the 2027 season.
This is a rare opportunity to take over a well-run, well-funded lodge from an experienced management team retiring after 7 successful years. A supported transition and hands-on training will be provided to ensure long-term success.
The Role:
- Manage a 9-cabin (28-guest) housekeeping plan operation
- Oversee day-to-day operations, guest services, and all upkeep/maintenance along with ground maintenance
- Supervise a small part time team (housekeeping + grounds/dock staff)
- Handle guest check-in/out and final invoicing (no bookkeeping)
The setting:
- Drive-to remote location in Northern Ontario
- ~3 hours from nearest full-service town
- ~10 minutes from a small town with very limited supplies
You Are:
A reliable, self-motivated couple who understand that one of your top priorities is protecting and maintaining the owner’s investment while ensuring the lodge operates smoothly and professionally in the owner’s absence. The owner is not always on-site, so honesty, reliability, and sound judgment are essential.
You have these attributes:
- Experienced in hospitality, lodges, or outdoor operations
- Comfortable in a remote, hands-on lifestyle
- Mechanically inclined and team-oriented
- General maintenance experience such as electrical, plumbing, boat and motor repair
- Exceptional cleanliness standards and how to achieve them
- Hold valid driver’s licenses with your own vehicle (required) Company vehicle provided for supply runs.
Selection Process:
Shortlisted candidates may be invited to visit the lodge as part of the selection process to ensure a strong mutual fit. Travel support may be provided for final candidates invited to visit the site.
