To advance the Schulich School of Business's vision of developing ground-breaking ideas and responsible leaders with the power to reshape business and change the world, the Associate Director, Career Advising and Design role strategically leads the Centre for Career Design (CCD) Career Advising team and guides oversees the design of high-impact, innovative and inclusive programming that facilitates student and new graduate career exploration, career decision-making, job search, and employment preparation. Reporting to the Director, Centre for Career Design (Director) the role builds partnerships across the Schulich School of Business and the suite of Undergraduate, Masters, and MBA programs, and interacts with the broader University community. The role is a key champion of seamless and integrated career education into the curriculum and co-curriculum and provides input on strategic initiatives involving student career design to support recruitment and retention activities. The role requires a demonstrated commitment to the values of Student Success, specifically Collaboration, Care, Accountability, Respect, Innovation, Inclusion and Excellence.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
Certified Career Development Professional (CCDP) or Career Development Practitioner (CCCD) is an asset.Note: Position requires certification of degree(s)/credential(s).
Experience:
5 years of related experience.
3 years of management experience.
Experience leading career development program and service delivery, with an emphasis on project and program development, implementation, assessment, and group facilitation, within an educational or comparable setting would be an asset.

Knowledge
Knowledge of career counselling, development theory and practice, competency frameworks, and student development theory.
Knowledge of career challenges, such as mental health and racism, experienced by undergraduate and graduate students of diverse backgrounds.
Knowledge of traditional and non-traditional employment processes and issues.
Knowledge of effective management and leadership practices to create high performing teams.Skills
Effective communication skills with strong interpersonal skills including discretion and the ability to establish and maintain trust. Ability to present and communicate complex information with clarity to a range of diverse audiences.

York's CPM Compensation Framework has a salary grid consisting of 6 or 8 steps (depending on job grade) which is reviewed annually with possible adjustments, and a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award.
