The Catholic Independent Schools of the Vancouver Archdiocese (the CISVA) operates 46 schools – 40 elementary and 6 high schools. About the Role
St. Catherine’s Elementary is seeking a faith filled, dedicated, and compassionate Certified Educational Assistant to support student learning and well-being in an inclusive environment. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to assist students with diverse learning needs.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one and small group support to students academically, socially, and emotionally
-
Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
-
Support classroom instruction under the direction of the teacher
-
Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
-
Assist students with personal care needs when required
-
Supervise students during class, recess, lunch, and school activities
-
Use positive behavior support strategies
-
Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and administration
Qualifications

Certification as an Educational Assistant (or equivalent recognized credential)

Experience working with children, particularly those with diverse learning needs

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

Patience, empathy, and a commitment to student success

First Aid/CPR certification (preferred or required)
