Ventus Geospatial Inc. is seeking a UAS Technician for a contract position beginning in July. Under the general direction of the Operations Manager, the incumbent will perform piloting duties for UAS data collection missions in an oil and gas setting. The UAS Pilot will work closely with the visual observer to complete mission planning, UAS mission execution, equipment maintenance and general duties surrounding the work.

This unique opportunity enables the successful applicant an exciting opportunity to work with cutting edge spatial technologies and develop their skillset in the UAS sector. The incumbent must competently carry out and complete the required tasks for the successful operation of UAS platforms and sensor payloads. This opportunity is a fly in -fly out position with flights departing from both Calgary, AB and Edmonton, AB. The shift will consist of 12 hour operational days on a 14-14 rotation and the position is a full-time engagement. Health and dental benefits will be provided after the 3 month probationary period.
Job Responsibilities
· Piloting UAS
· Time management and problem solving
· Complete pre-flight checklists
· Assemble unmanned aerial systems
· Application of Safe Work Strategies
· Complete Job Safety Analysis and obtain proper permits for operations
· Managing and delivering unmanned aerial systems data
· Conduct periodic UAS inspections, routine tests and system updates
· Understanding of airspace and Transport Canada regulations
· Perform appropriate duties as assigned by management
Requirements
· Transport Canada Advanced License or L1C License
· Minimum of 3 year UAS piloting experience
· Lift maximum of 50 pounds and stand for 8 hours
· Committed to safety, quality, and communication
· Team oriented and self-directed
· Valid drivers license.
· First aid required
· H2S training required
Pay: $28.00-$40.00 per hour
